MEET THE FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
LaToya Smithwick is the Founder & Executive Director of The Indulge Her Foundation, a nonprofit born from her own lived experience with Stage 4 breast cancer.
What began as a life-altering diagnosis quickly became a calling. After navigating the emotional, physical, and practical realities of treatment including chemotherapy and the sudden disruption of her career. LaToya felt compelled to create a space of support, dignity, and hope for other women facing similar journeys.
LaToya’s experience revealed a profound truth: healing is layered. Beyond medical care, women often need emotional support, resource guidance, encouragement, and reminders of their strength during one of life’s most vulnerable seasons.
Through The Indulge Her Foundation, she is committed to supporting women impacted by breast cancer by nurturing not only the body, but also the mind and spirit.
More Than a Diagnosis
LaToya is not only a founder and advocate, she is also a proud Mom.
Her role as a mother has been one of her greatest sources of strength, perspective, and purpose throughout her healing journey. It continues to shape the compassion and intention behind her work, reminding her daily of the importance of resilience, hope, and legacy.
Her Mission
With grace, transparency, and unwavering faith, LaToya leads The Indulge Her Foundation with a vision centered on whole-person healing, empowerment, and the belief that even in the midst of diagnosis and uncertainty, joy and purpose can still exist.
Founder’s Reflection
“My diagnosis changed my life, but it did not define my spirit. This foundation is my way of turning pain into purpose.”
